Intent
Our History curriculum at Lyndon Green Infant School provides an engaging education that develops a deep understanding of the past, and how it has shaped the present and will impact the future. Through our curriculum, we inspire pupil’s curiosity and develop key historical skills, such as chronological understanding, interpretation, making connections between events, people and ideas. Our History curriculum promotes critical thinking, reflection, empathy and a strong sense of citizenship. Our curriculum enables children to explore their locality and find out about significant individuals who have helped shape our community.
Our History curriculum has been designed to cover all of the skills, knowledge and understanding as set out in the National Curriculum. Meaningful cross-curriculum links with other subjects are made to strengthen connections and understanding for pupils.
